An intelligent friend of mine told me the other day that half of twelve was seven. I told him it was six, and tapped it in on my calculator to prove it was, in fact, 6. He then wrote down on a piece of paper how he was right.

What did he write?

Hey, now , this trick was good !

XII , if cut into half (literally , that is , shall give you VII .

So.......... do we blame our ancient romans for such misappropriations ?
