When I try to open the file with Word, it comes up defaulting to a type of Japanese encoding.  When I click OK, it comes up as a 173 page document of mixed Japanese and jibberish.  The first page looks like this:

BM6l6(``Ä       {this from cutting and pasting}

BM61......6...(...'...'...............Ä    {closer to actual appearance}

I think this is probably just artifact from opening with the wrong program.  Personally, I think it's probably a stereogram.
