Hmmm... Well, the first obvious answer is "crust", but it doesn't fit perfectly.

When the crust forms, the bread stops rising and spreading.
You tread on the Earth's crust.
You can... um... flip bread/crust over, and... um... sing?

Ok, so maybe that's not the answer.


I assume that the "flip me over" part is some kind of word play, like reading the word upsidedown or backwards. "Crust" = "Clnzf"? "Tsurc"? Doubtful....
