What is the 1000th digit to the right of the decimal point in the decimal representation of (1+√2)^3000?

This problem can be solved by algebra alone, without the need for computers or calculators

There are numerous numbers less than 0.9999999999999.  It could be between 0.00000000000000000000000000000001 and 0.999999999999999999999999999999999999.  It still cannot confirm that the answer is not 3.

So, as I say early, the answer is still 3 if you still cannot convince us that the answer could not be 3.
