The terms of the given sequence are constituted by the number of bars that are darkened in a LCD display of a hand calculator. to show the digits 0, 1, 2, ...., 9.

We know that precisely 6 bars are darkened in the display to show the digit 9.

Consequently, the required missing digit of the given sequence is 6.
