Just find two! (Posted on 2005-04-27) Difficulty: 4 of 5
Given a triangle ABC, how can you find a point P on AC and a point Q on BC, such that AP=PQ=QB?

N.B. A construction method is sought, and only compass and straightedge are allowed.

Wonderful!  Even shorter than Kereki's short solution (not shorter verbally, less activity with straightedge and compass)!

By the way, I have just been informed that, with the exception of Bractals and Kereki, we have been snookered by a "coffin" problem, a problem designed to stump "undesirables" without arousing suspicion.
