What number will extend the following sequence?

1, 6, 8, 3, 7, ...

Spell out the numbers, and take their last letters as the title suggests: onE, siX, eighT, threE, seveN.

To extend the sequence you need the first (so far unused) number ending in D, namely 100.

BTW, to decrypt the hint, just read it backwards...
