A man without eyes saw plums on a tree.
He did not leave plums on the tree, yet he did not take plums either.
How can this be?

Possibly he imagined the entire thing. He pictured in his mind a plum tree with plums on it and then decided not to have plums on the tree but bananas instead.  This way he technically did not take teh plums away they just disappeared.
