Southern Exposure (Posted on 2005-06-01) Difficulty: 1 of 5
A normal house was built, with 4 walls and a roof. But each wall had a southern exposure. A bear comes up to the window. What color is the bear and why?

Solution A very small bear | Comment 4 of 47 |

The bear had to be a small grayish koala.

The house would have to be at the very pole of the North Pole, where there are no wild polar bears. There could only be a pet bear of one of the scientists -- and only a small bear would be kept as a pet: say, a small grayish koala (actually a marsupial, not a true bear) that has gotten loose and has been roaming around the compound.
