Breaking glass (Posted on 2005-06-30) Difficulty: 2 of 5
You have a square glass panel with 24 cm sides and a ring with 5 cm internal diameter.
Cut the glass in 4 identical pieces such that you can slide them through the ring.

I had an initial thought; but mine would have been 6" wide, but my lines started at the centre.

I perceive that this 'solution' does not do that.  I think that 'spirals', originating from the centre should be first drawn, and then the parallel to those spirals be drawn.

[Actually I would hate to have to try to make such cut in glass! A sheet of card? Yes.]
