TIG-Tungsten Inert Gas welding is often simply referred to as tig welding. 

It was notn dictionary.com, but I am sure an unabridged dictionary may have it.

I also found it in dictionary.com as a flat bottom cup usually with four handles..., (or a game played by children see Tag, I think someone at dictionary.com was smoking something there).

But alas that still leaves your IW vertically though.
