The position below was achieved in a normal chess game, and there are no other pieces left on the board with the exception of the white King. Where is the white King? How was this position achieved?

please rotate the board 90 degrees clockwise - the lower left corner a1 is always black...
last move was d7-d8 transforming a pawn into a bishop.
white king was probably at c8 ?/
why a pawn was turned into a bishop and not a queen??
ans: to create this funny riddle...
