Since the last puzzle was about the order of British PMs, it seemed natural that this one here would be something similar, most likely the British monarchy.

Scanning through the list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_monarchs, the little sub-sequence that quickly caught my eye was
Jane            1553-1553
Mary I        1553-1558
Elizabeth I  1558-1603

Corresponding to the J,M,E of the sequence. Looking over the entire list, the list of British queens is:

Matilda       1141-1141
Jane            1553-1553
Mary I        1553-1558
Elizabeth I  1558-1603
Mary II       1689-1694
Anne           1707-1714

and then

Anne            1714-1727
Victoria        1837-1901
Elizabeth II  1952-

I guess Anne doesn't really count as two monarchs, it's just that her title and the British monarchy changed in 1714. So , not  counting her twice, the next (and last) two letters are V and E for Victoria and Elizabeth.
