With the thought of casting nines
in mind, I decided to keep on adding numbers one at a time in mod 9,
and every time I reached or passed 0 mod 9, I highlighted the number
that I had just added.
For example, the first row (everything is in mod 9):
5+7 = 3, highlight 7
3+2 = 5
5+4 = 0, highlight 4
0+9 = 0, highlight 9
...
I
actually tried mod 10 at first, and didn't get any results. I
also tried carrying over the sums from each row to the next (for
example, the total sum of the second row was 1, and I tried starting at
1 for the next row). I got the best results in mod 9, resetting
the sum each row. This is what I got:

I
got excited when an I, an R, and an O appeared, but the last two
letters seem to be messed up, and the RO isn't exactly perfect either.
Three possibilities:
I added incorrectly, since I did it by hand.
My method is almost correct, but slightly inaccurate.
I'm on a completely wrong path, and this is just a coincidence.
My guess is that the word is IRONY. I love irony. Is that so odd?
