2001 digits (Posted on 2002-04-29) Difficulty: 2 of 5
A string of 2001 digits begins with a "6". Any number formed by two consecutive digits is divisible by either 17 or 23.

What is the last digit in this sequence?

What if the sequence had 2002 digits?

(i) The required last digt of the sequence is 6.

(ii) If the sequence had 2002 digits, then the last digit of the sequence would have been either 9 or 8.
