Palindromic sequences (Posted on 2005-10-31) Difficulty: 3 of 5
1,1
1,2,1
1,3,2,3,1
1,4,3,2,3,4,1
1,5,4,3,5,2,5,3,4,5,1
1,6,5,4,3,5,2,5,3,4,5,6,1

What are the next several lines and how are they formed?

Do the sequences have any special feature?

Does the pattern continue indefinitely?

Tristan, if the answer is that you posted, I think this problem (with the given data) is : "GUESS what I did".

And we can find more than two or three POSSIBLE solutions, with the given data. Bob could had avoided this providing at least two more rows.

It´s like: what is the next number in this crescent sequence: 1, 4, 7, ... If you think is 10, you´re wrong, because I thought in the number of letters in each number 1(3), 4(4), 7(5),... so, 11(6).
