Let us consider the eight (letter, number) pair that together constitute a word. In eah pair the numbers give the position of a letter in the word.
Accordingly,
E2 -> second letter in the word is E.
E5 -> fifth letter in the word is E.
N6 -> sixth letter in the word is N.
S1 -> first letter in the word is S.
U4 -> fourth letter in the word is U.
Q3 -> third letter in the word is Q.
C7 -> seventh letter in the word is C.
_8 -> eighth letter in the word is to be determined.

In accordance with (i), we observe that the first seven letters of the 8-letter unknown word is SEQUENC_.
Since the given problem deals exclusively with sequences, it follows that the 8th letter must be "E" to complete the word "SEQUENCE".
Accordingly, the eighth term of the given sequence is E8,and consequently, the required missing letter is E.
