Is it possible to hit a golf ball on the surface of the moon and have it achieve a stable orbit around the moon?

Yes, in two steps. | Comment 3 of 17 |
Step 1:  Drive the golf ball into the open hatch of the Lunar escape vehicle.

Step 2:  Launch the Lunar escape vehicle and take it into a stable orbit around the moon.

(Optional) Step 3:  Release the golf ball into space during EVA while orbiting the moon and leave it behind when you return to earth.
