S-2-1-3-1-2-S (Posted on 2006-01-09) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Quite a simple problem really:
There exists a word. It begins and ends with the letter 's'.
It's structure is as follows: S, two consonants, a vowel, three consonants, a vowel, two consonants, S.

Solution More to add.... Comment 11 of 11 |

Penny's post lists the majority of the possible words and included five words (scrattlings, screwstocks, scrunchings, splotchings, sprattlings) that I had missed in my initial independant search for the words that fit the pattern.  One of the words I had found that Penny missed is one that Charlie included in his list: stringhalts
Additional words that might be added to the list are:
shringpacks, skrimshanks, splashbacks, springhalts,
springworts, strinklings, strongbacks,
and strongbarks.
