I went into the woods and got it.
I sat down to seek it.
I brought it home with me because I couldn't find it.
What is it?

Ticks are usually found after they are attached. 
So, if you were in the woods and got one--then you
wouldn't have to go home to seek it, (only to 
remove it).  Basically, if you knew it was there,
why would you have to seek it?
