Composite numbers (Posted on 2003-03-05) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Find 2000 consecutive composite numbers.

(Of course you can't do this by trial and error alone)

For those who do not know what a composite number is, it is any integer greater than 1 that is not prime. (4, 6, 8, 9, ...)

No ravi, either you're wrong, or you've made the mistake I think you've made, and you're wrong, or you've made some other mistake.
1.) The way you've written it, you are dividing a smaller number by a larger one, thus never getting an integer. But I don't believe this is what you meant? fwaff has the larger number divided by the smaller.

2.) Every number from 1-1000 has a certain number of multiples that will produce a number between 1001 and 2000. For example the number 503 (1-1000) has 1006 and 1509, both within the 1001-2000 range that will produce an integer when divided larger/smaller.

3.)Otherwise I'm not sure that you've stateed your question properly.
