I don't see how this comment relates to bookworm's riddle.

Sometimes some solvers will deviate from the theme of a puzzle, and sometimes a few have recorded a comment meant for a certain puzzle in the wrong place.

Neither seems to be what has happened in your case.

I realise that you are still finding your way around here and this may have seemed to be the only place available for you at the time.

An appropriate place for this would be Forums and then start a new thread under General Discussion.  Then anyone can see Forums, above the chatterbox and see if there are any new entries.

Hope that partially helps.   On the code, I think Simon Singh addressed it in "The Code Book", I look, but at the same time, there are others here who are more adept at ciphers.
