An Ingenious Structure Problem (Posted on 2007-01-09)
Determine the missing letter in this sequence:

A, B, H, F, M, C, I, G, T, D, O, J, U, E, X, __

Submitted by K Sengupta No Rating Solution: (Hide) The required letter is L. EXPLANATION: A is the first letter of the alphabet with a symmetry along the vertical axis. B is the first letter of the alphabet with a symmetry along the horizontal axis. H is the first letter of the alphabet with a symmetery along both the vertical axis and the horizontal axis. F is the first letter of the alphabet with no symmetry along either the vertical axis or the horizontal axis. The sequence then repeats with the second letter of the alphabet with symmetry along the vertical axis (M) and so on. Now, L is the fourth letter of the alphabet with no symmetry either along the horizontal axis or the vertical axis , and so, the required missing letter is L.
