True Or False - Part 2 (Posted on 2003-05-07) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Obviously the following statement is 'False':
"This sentence contains Seven words".

So we correct the sentence by changing it to:
This sentence does not contain Seven words".

We know that the First statement is False and so now can we conclude that the Second statement is True ?

just because one statement is true about another doesnt mean it is true for all.  both statements are false.

true and false are opposites.
"this sentance contains seven words" and "this sentance does not contain seven words" are not opposites.  so just because one sentance is false doesnt mean a sentance describing the opposite will be true.
