The numbers are the totals of the rows, columns and diagonals
of a 'magic square'.

Describe the common sequence which they hide.

 Submitted by brianjn Rating: 4.0000 (2 votes) Solution: (Hide) These are the first 9 square numbers beginning with 1 in the centre spiralling upwards and clockwise. My apologies, I was unaware that other numbers could meet the criteria of my totals. I felt that, without compromising the problem, I could only go as far as to saw common sequence, but without drawing attention to the fact.
