Hole-some Countries (Posted on 2007-01-16) Difficulty: 3 of 5
There are five countries whose names, when spelt out in capital letters, have no enclosed spaces within the letters.

Find them.

For instance, FRANCE is not acceptable because both the R and the A have enclosed areas, while LEVIK, if it was a country, has no enclosed areas and so would be acceptable.

Solution There are six countries... | Comment 8 of 11 |
There are six countries whose names when written in capital letters of the standard printed script of the English alphabet have no enclosed spaces with the letters (i.e., the name comprises of no A, B, D, O, P, Q or R):

CHILE, FIJI,  LIECHTENSTEIN,  NIUE,  SEYCHELLES, and YEMEN.

*Niue, the South Pacific island nation, is noted in Wikipedia's list of countries, yet it seems it had been forgotten in the "official" solution here.
