Glad to hear I'm not the only one then, and glad to entertain =)

When I do a problem, if I get to the point where I think my only option is to guess, I only do that with the goal of finding a contradiction so I can eliminate my guess as a possibility (or sometimes to find out "no matter what I pick here, this other cell will always be a 7").  I actually get frustrated if I come up with a "solution" based off a guess because I make myself go through the other possibilities to make sure those aren't solutions.

The point of THAT blurb was just to say that I think it is better to approach logic problems like these with "this number MUST go here" (logical reasoning) rather than "this number CAN go here" (guessing) because then there would be fewer incidents of "multiple solution" responses.  But I just think that way because I am a puzzle snob =)

Back on topic: cool puzzle!
