Determine the total number of real y with 1 ≤ y ≤ 2007 satisfying this equation:

[y/2] + [y/3] + [y/8] + [y/9] = 77y/72

where [p] denotes the greatest integer ≤ p.

Chesca, please become aware of this site's policies and rules.  In the FAQ it states, "When posting a solution, make sure to not give it away in the subject line of your post."

I think, "I bet on 27!" as your subject heading is an example of what not to do.
