Undefined Term (Posted on 2008-03-14) Difficulty: 2 of 5

There is a sequence defined by using common mathematical operations.
The first two terms in the sequence are 10 and 12 and the sixth term is 60. The seventh term, however, is undefined.
What are the third, fourth and fifth terms?

Two sequences | Comment 3 of 6 |
Both sequences noted in the prior comments agree for values of the terms requested by Brian Smith but they differ in the generation of the terms beyond the 7th.

I have noted that with my construction of the sequence I always generate a positive integer whether my x value is positive or negative (except for the undefined term).

My full sequence would therefore be:
..........108, 82, 60, 42, 28, 18, 12, 10 12, 18, 28, 42, 60, (82?), 108, .............    10 becomes the mirror around x=0.

By Dej Mar's 14th term fractional components begin to creep in until after the 67th term the terms all have negative values which approach zero as the terms get larger.
