A man is attempting to steal something. While running home he sees a masked man, wearing what looks like a bullet proof vest, crouched before him. The masked man brandishes threateningly an object in his gloved hand.

The first man turns and runs as fast as he can in the opposite direction. Onlookers scream.

Where are they?

Nice riddle FrankM but a little too hard for me.
I'll get back to it in a little while but right now it is the bottom of the third inning and the Yankees lead the Redsox by 3 runs to 2.
