Change O & X's Winner (Posted on 2008-07-22) Difficulty: 2 of 5
In a game of "Noughts and Crosses" between two novice players the X player had the first move and won.

If the player of O had been first can you suggest how to replace the winning X with an O to show the new on-screen winner?

Oh! Having found the solution, might you somewhat cryptically make reference to the "key" without saying directly how you actually arrived at it?

Question Unsure | Comment 1 of 5

I am unclear as to what is being asked.

I would replace the central X with a 0 thereby giving 0 a chance of two lines and hence X cannot block both so 0 wins.

But I fear this is an answer to a completely different question
