Select from the English alphabet only those letters, and just once each, which represent Roman numerals. Place them in a special order to represent a year in history that holds significance.

I am thinking that Brainjn is not intending for any particular year as "the" answer, but simply for us to find years that fit the criteria and what is significant about them.  Using google one can find significant events for just about any year in history.
