Firstly,
After arriving home I installed a wireless modem/router which somehow locked up internet access; oddly replacing it with the old router (which I'm using now) was also blocked!!


Ok.  Hints.
1. The title is very relevant as is the "schoolboy" note, but that depends upon whether you ever became acquainted with some of those formats.

2. Dan Brown might be a consideration.
