Mine & thine (Posted on 2011-08-19) Difficulty: 4 of 5
I tried to create a puzzle in the form :
MEUM+TUUM= a sum
MEUM-TUUM= a difference,
where " a sum" and " a difference" represent 4-letter valid English words making my cryptic uniquely solvable.

The best I' 've got was:
MEUM+TUUM= UNIT
MEUM-TUUM= STEE

1. SOLVE IT. There is only one solution, satisfying BOTH equations.
2. Try to find better (i.e. less archaic) English words for the sum and the difference of my original quest, leading to a single solution ( not necessarily mine).

Hints/Tips re: AN IM possible variant | Comment 2 of 6 |

If it were true, than only 1225, 6889 and 7225 qualify

as TUUM, which leads to nowhere.

Try   to start with    E= (0 OR 9) and M>T.
