It took me about 8 seconds to  reach a wrong answer.

I just have intimate knowledge of 999=27*37 and 1001-77*13==> those were the two multiplicationS used to calibrate a(or to verify accuracy of a) SLIDE-RULER (look it up, ). One number is slightly under a 1(000) and the other slightly above.

 

858   ???-  What a surprise!! Never saw this "guy" before.

SO  :I needed more time to provide the correct answer..
