"The day before yesterday i was only fourteen. Next year, I will be 17."

How is this possible?

Her birthday is on 31st december.She is talking on 1st january .Now day before yesterday is 30th december she was 14,then on 31st she will be 15.She is talking about this in january.Then this year she will 16 on 31st january.Then next year 17.
