Gold is measured in "International troy ounce" which is approximately equivalent to 31.1034768 grams.

Lead is measured in "International avoirdupois ounce" which is approximately equivalent to 28.349523125 grams

So, an 18 ounces gold bar weighs more than an 18 ounces lead bar.
