So using that little bit of algebra I just came up with in my last comment, I can rework yr math...


let x = 0.999.... = 1-P


10x = 9.999... = 10-P


10x-x = 9x = 9-P


x = 1-P (still)


So my take is that you dropped yr P at the 9x=9 stage.
