Well I am not quite sure that you are correct either. If I don't believe in "destiny", in other words, I am given free will... my family tree isn't decided already. And it grows anyway...

Plus, how do you believe that a family tree is "tall" since it is only an idea... Even if you pick out the people, nobody is taller than a tree, unless you bend the rules lots. (which isn't called for in riddles like these)
