I had easily composed the above list after Ady's hint. (I should have figured it out from the puzzle's title that musical instruments was not the list asked for, but as I had already composed a list of musical instruments in the manner as had Charlie in his previous post, I submit it:

aml - agung a tamlang: a Philippine bamboo slit drum
bou - baboula: a Grenadian barrel drum
        bamboula: a Virgian Island drum
        bouzouki: a Greek lute
