Buddy, can you spare a buck? (Posted on 2015-04-03) Difficulty: 2 of 5
What is the largest amount of money you can possess in U.S. coins(i.e. 1,2,5,10,25,50 cents) without being able to make change for a dollar ?

I didn't even notice the 2-cent piece while the puzzle was in the queue.

The $1.23 certainly beats my $1.14 of 3 quarters 4 dimes and 4 pennies.

But if obsolete coins are included we could include as many $5 pieces as we wanted.
