A pitcher comes into a baseball game in the first inning, he strikes out 27 straight batters all the way through 9 innings, not a single hit, run, walk, error, interference, or hit-by-pitch was recorded. There were no recording errors. His ERA (earned run average) and WHIP (walks/hits per inning pitched) were both 0.00, his team DID NOT forfeit, yet his team lost the game, why?

I agree.  If you take it to mean that there were none of the previously mentioned stats recorded, you would have to accept the answer that a reliever came in and lost it.  The problem was worded in such a way as to imply that through the nine innings that the 27-out man pitched, there were no runs, but it did not explicitly say that was the case for the complete game.  crazyotter's works too, but it's a bit of a stretch
