GSP image to Perplexus image?
Does anybody know how to convert a Geometer's SketchPad (GSP) image into an image acceptable to Perplexus? I tried to copy the GSP image into the Windows Paint program and then save the Paint image. But, the image is skewed when copied into the Paint program ( circles goto ellipses ). |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
Have you given consideration to the Pint Screen Function on your computer? It does a screen capture and then you use some imagery program, like Photoshop, but it doesn't have to be that sophisticated; I use Aldus Photostyler which is basic and some 10 years old. |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
I started working with the "Prnt Scrn" after my initial post and it works great.
Thanks for the quick response.
What is the procedure for getting an image onto perplexus? |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
Petition the director, aka "bug levik". There's a place to click on the home page. |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
BTW alt-PrtScr works best, in capturing only the current window, so there's less to crop away in Paint. The diagram in Two Squares (http://perplexus.info/show.php?pid=6455) was done with Alt-PrtScrn and then cropping the borders away in Paint. |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
I had largely dismissed "Paint" because it only produced "bmp" formats in the early days. I have used it under XP Home a few times for "jpg" needs, but sorry, I didn't immediately recall that. |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
If levik accepts the image, do you email it to him as an attachment?
If you want to use the image in a problem, do you insert dummy html tags and levik or someone else changes them to point to the imge? |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
That should be image and not imge.
How does the person that inserts the html tags know the address of the image? |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
What I did was first FTP it to my own website, and place the appropriate HTML in the puzzle to reference that off-site location. Then I petition director (bug levik) to bring it on-site. He copies it over to an address of his choosing in perplexus and changes the puzzle HTML to match. |

Re: GSP image to Perplexus image?
The only problem there though is that while Charlie (and other scholars) may directly and without corruption, you would need to use the 'a href="Mysite_and_ImageLocation" ' syntax ( I've left out the angled bracket symbols to avoid any issues with this part of Perplexus).
If we see that, and know that levik has been notified we can install the IMG SRC tag to make the image immediately visible on Perplexus. Be aware though that if you have to edit your problem that link would be corrupted; but that is not a big issue for scholars to fix.
