Question gold | Comment 21 of 24 |
Five pirates looted a ship and stole a box of gold coins. They decided to divide the coins the next day. That night one of the pirates for some unknown reason threw the first coin into the ocean then divided the box of gold into 5 stacks. The pirate took one of the stacks of coins and put them in his pocket. The remaining 4 stacks were returned to the box. During the night the rest of the pirates did the same thing. The next morning all the pirates threw the first coin into the ocean then divided the box of coins into 5 stacks Each pirate took one of the stacks to add to the other stack they had acquired. What is the least amount of gold coins had to be in the box ?
