Given a square piece of paper, show how by creasing and folding only, a square of half the area of the original can be obtained.
Fold the piece in half (the hot dog way or taco way) and unfold it.
Repeat to form a second crease.
These two creases cross at the center of the square.
Fold each of the corners to the center.
This is half the area because each quadrant of the original square is folded in half.
