What is the fewest number of pitches that a pitcher in a major league baseball game can throw and come away with a complete game?
(A real complete game, not shortened by rain or anything like that)
Assuming the pitcher's team scored a run then the pitcher can throw 27
pitches. He (or she, you never know) can throw three pitches each
inning, so 3 pitches/inning x 9 innings = 27 pitches. Along with
a complete game, the pitcher would also come away with a perfect game.
Just read the solution. Thought the pitcher had to win. Never mind.
