Who played first? (Posted on 2004-05-07) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Given this tic-tac-toe position, as played by two expert players, who went first and where? Also, which was the last "move"?
 X | O | O
---+---+---
   | | X
---+---+---
   | X | O
(An expert player is a player who would never play in such a way that would allow his opponent to win, and who would also try to get the possible best result.)

hmmmmmmmm looks like ur right. n after lookin at it again it lookz like da 1st move isnt in a corner after all.i didn't read em all so if posted already sry.

1st move O goes on top middle space. now i read sum it up n da response 2 it n hav concluded dat

X goes on bottom middle space

now itz already been seen how it would b pointless to go in da middle so if O wants to set up ne kinda offense he wud go on the bottom righthand corner.

this forces X to prevent the 2-way trap n go on the upper lefthand corner

now to make a final atempt to win or bring it to a draw O goes on the upper righthand corner

this forces X to block by goin on the remaining space on the left

this leaves O the ability to now chose any of the 3 remaining spaces left none really affecting the outcome

man i really hope thi is right i actually put a lil thouhgt in it this time around although im still thinkin bout where O would go after the second move by X but eh we'll jes c right
