You're most likely right. I just prefer to have more of a twist in the riddles. And if it's just trees....that bores me. SO MANY riddles refer to trees and leaves and I'm just tired of it I guess. I was hoping it would be a bit more creative. But since this riddle is only on a tiny level 1 (green square) it probably is trees.
I'll be happy if the answer is hairs. Though you're right, it is worded weirdly because our happiness is not an affect of the hairs' death. But someitmes riddles are just weird because the authors are trying to simply make the riddle work.
And you're right, the public buildings thing....I didn't think about that part in full effect. That makes me laugh thinking about people blow drying their hair in the library or in a restaurant. hee hee But if that sentence has to do with fireplacs like everyone is suggesting....yeah SOMETIMES there are fireplaces in public places, but rarely. I wonder why the author chose to say public buildings. Any comments on that? Is it more common for certain staes to have fireplaces in public buildings? I live in WI and rarely see it...even though this is one of the coldest winter states!
