Make the most of these digits (Posted on 2002-06-06) Difficulty: 3 of 5
You can use the digits 1,2,and 3 once only and any mathematical symbols you are aware of, but no symbol is to be used more than once. The challenge is to see if you can make the largest numbers.

Here are some numbers to set the ball rolling: 321, 21to the third power, (3/.1)to the second power.

(levik: I guess this is more of a competition)

As I already explained in the puzzle about making the least of the numbers 1, 2, and 3, I invoke the seldomly heard of mathematical procedure called hexation:

Addition: 2+31 = 33
Multiplication: 2*31 = 62
Exponentiation: 2**31 = 2147483648
Tetration: 2***31 = 1.949062802279999816070676477575e+289
Pentation: 2****31 = 9.651633578044085371883592515168e+8967
Hexation: 2*****31 = (9.651633578044085371883592515168e+8967)^31

Feel free to stick a factorial behind there to make it a truly large number.
