Regardless of the language, I'd worry about intended integral powers coming out that way, as I'm sure many computer languages would do exponentiation based on logarithms.
I do trust UBASIC to do exact power raising on integers. It was designed with math operations in mind. The only reason I don't use UBASIC more is its requirement for line numbers on each line of the program.
